The Lititz Historical Foundation will host a flag placement ceremony on Saturday, May 16 from 1–2 PM at the Revolutionary War Memorial Park (507 East Main Street, Lititz) as part of the America250PA Memorial Flag Initiative.
This free, public event will include brief remarks by Lieutenant Colonel Michael “Neal” Miller, U.S. Army and Lititz Historical Foundation President Cory Van Brookhoven, followed by the placement of American flags at the burial site of some of the nation’s earliest unknown soldiers. These individuals, who fought at Brandywine and Germantown during the Revolutionary War, were later treated at the military hospital in Lititz, where they ultimately lost their lives.
The America250PA Memorial Flag Initiative supports local efforts across Pennsylvania to honor veterans by placing flags at gravesites in advance of Memorial Day. The Lititz Historical Foundation is proud to contribute to this statewide effort through its work at Revolutionary War Memorial Park.
Please join us in honoring these early patriots during America’s 250th year.
