Emerging Women Composers in Concert: Mitamu Sextet
May 7, 2023 @ 6:30 pm – 9:00 pm
Mitamu founder Tammy Huynh is a Vietnamese-American vocalist and composer whose songs feature
compelling narratives accompanied by a powerful mix of jazz, funk and experimental music. In February
she raised $7,400 to fund a recording project that will use artificial intelligence as an instrument for music making.
Tammy, 27, won the Beta Hi-Fi Emerging Artist Festival Competition last year and an ASCAP Foundation’s Herb Alpert Young Jazz Composer Award this year. Raised in Doylestown, Tammy has a bachelor’s degree from Temple University and a master’s degree from Manhattan School of Music. She lives in New York City. Tammy will be available to talk about her work and her career at a “Meet the Composer” reception following the concert.
Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 day of show, $10 for students.
