Emerging Women Composers in Concert: Lora Sherrodd Quintet

This monthly concert series, the first of its kind in southcentral PA, continues with the Lora Sherrodd
Quintet.
Lora Sherrodd is an award-winning vocalist and composer with a flair for writing straight-ahead tunes and feminist lyrics. Lora, 25, whose influences include jazz icons Carmen McRae and Betty Carter, is a two-time winner of DownBeat magazine’s Student Music Award for Outstanding Vocal Solo. The Wyoming native holds a bachelor’s degree from University of Wyoming and master’s degree from Temple University, both in jazz studies. Lora lives in Philadelphia. Lora will be available to talk about her work and her career at a “Meet the Composer” reception following the concert.
Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 day of show, $10 for students.
